2ergo Powers American Idol for Cingular

As an exclusive partner of the hugely popular American Idol television event, Cingular Wireless needed to deliver a flawless mobile campaign that gave its subscribers access to show-specific content. Idol's popularity presented Cingular with a great chance to deliver value-added services to end users.


Solution

2ergo delivered Cingular's Idol campaign by powering an SMS and WAP-based solution that allowed viewers to download ringtones and answer tones from the most recent Idol episodes and reserve tones from the most compelling participants on upcoming episodes.

During the course of the event, users who voted or responded to calls to action to receive more information on Idol were returned a WAP push message that directed them to a 2ergo-powered WAP site. From the WAP site they could purchase and reserve the newest tones from each episode. Following each episode Proteus delivered ringtones and answer tones from show participants.

2ergo was able to seamlessly integrate its WAP and content delivery solution into the framework of Cingular's larger marketing strategy for American Idol.
